Top News and Magazines Apps on Android in Latin America, Q2 2025

In the second quarter of 2025, several News and Magazines apps on Android showed notable performance trends in Latin America, according to Sensor Tower data.

X (Formerly Twitter) from X Corp. saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at approximately $35K in early April and ending the quarter around $31K. Downloads started at 311K, dipped mid-quarter, and ended at 258K. Active users began at 44.6M, with some fluctuation, closing the quarter at 41.6M.

EL PAÍS showed an increase in weekly revenue, reaching a high of $4.8K in mid-June. Downloads were relatively stable, averaging around 320, while active users increased from 3.7K to 4.7K by the end of June.

SkyAlert: Alerta Sísmica had varied revenue, peaking at $3.3K in mid-April. A notable spike in downloads occurred in late April, reaching 5K. Active users showed significant volatility but ended the quarter at 43.7K.

Medium maintained a steady revenue stream, averaging around $2K weekly. Downloads remained consistent, hovering around 1.7K to 1.9K. Active users increased steadily, starting at 28.3K and reaching 30.2K by the quarter's end.

Finally, GZH: notícias do RS e do mundo had stable revenue, with a slight rise to $2K by late June. Downloads began at 600 and gradually declined to 424. Active users saw a positive trend, ending the quarter with 110K, up from 106K.
